Grace and Alice, weeks 7 - 12

Actually, this page is premature.  They are only eleven weeks old, so we owe you a picture. 

Week 7

Not every picture is a masterpiece. Sometimes, babies are just cranky. This was the best shot of the day.  After this day, Mama did not look much better. 

Week 8

But then you get that smile. As far as I can tell, a baby's innate cuteness is the only thing that keeps us humans from abandoning them on a rock. And for Mamas, the smile is the big pay off. Just when you think you can't give any more to this endless pit of need, the baby smiles. For Mothers, this is completely rejuvenating. For Papas, well, it is a few more years before babies become entertaining. They have to be old enough to do tricks, like tell bad "knock knock" jokes, do one of those flop over sideways summersaults, or get a beer from the fridge. 

Week 9

Just a few days earlier, they went in to the pediatrician for their two month check up. Alice (left) weighed 10 lbs. 13 oz. and Grace weighed 9 lbs. 10 oz.  

Week 10

Ahh, the ritualistic visit to the Pumpkin Patch. For our family, a second baptism. Actually, at this point the girls are still heathens, but the christenings are scheduled!
